Initial
LOFT delivers a focused and immersive training experience for pilots pursuing an initial CE-560XL type rating. Throughout the course, you’ll train in realistic scenarios designed to strengthen decision-making, refine procedures, and build true confidence in the aircraft. The CE-560XL PIC Initial course is completed over approximately 10 days at our Southern California training facility and includes comprehensive ground school with experienced Citation instructors, dedicated simulator training in LOFT’s Citation Excel Level D device, and preparation for the FAA type rating practical test. Our accelerated footprint is designed to prepare you for real-world CE-560XL operations, not just the evaluation at the end of the course.

- Missed approaches with holds and engine failure
- Landing with inoperative engine and abnormal shutdown

Sim 5 and 6
- Preflight assessment
- Rejected takeoffs and go-arounds
- Steep turns and unusual attitude recovery
- Circling approaches and missed approaches
- Engine failure during takeoff, inflight restart, and single engine approaches
- Manually flown precision approach with engine failure
- No-flap and non-standard flap approach and landing
- Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT)
Day 10
Checkride and Oral
- Two-hour oral exam covering systems, procedures, and limitations
- Two-hour checkride conducted by a Training Center Evaluator
- Successful completion results in CE-560XL type rating certification
