FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
LOFT offers both full-time W2 and 1099 Contractor positions for a Simulator Instructor based in Carlsbad, CA. The Simulator Instructor will provide professional flight instruction to clients, including both theoretical and practical training.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include conducting simulator sessions and assessing pilot performance to ensure compliance with aviation standards and regulations. Supporting training programs, maintaining accurate training records, and staying up to date with current aviation practices will also be key aspects of this role.
REQUIREMENTS
- An FAA ATP certificate
- Strong knowledge of Aircraft Systems and their functionalities.
- Experience operating jet aircraft with either a general aviation, military, or airline background.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective instruction and interaction with clients.
- FAA or other recognized instructor certification and prior flight instruction experience are preferred.
- Ability to adapt to individual learning styles and evaluate trainee progress effectively.
- Knowledge of safety management systems and aviation regulations is a plus.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
LOFT is a flight training facility, teaching pilots how to fly a few different types of private jets through full-motion simulators. Over the last 15 years, we have been providing that instruction to thousands of pilots worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs maintenance functions of full flight simulators, flight training devices, cockpit procedure trainers, and associated support devices in order to meet pilot training, maintenance training, and FAA regulatory requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of Windows operating systems.
- Confidence in disassembling, repairing, and reassembling equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repairing low voltage systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics.
- General knowledge of UNIX operating systems and C/C++ programming languages is desirable.
- Diagnose and repair standard desktop computer components.
YOU WILL LEARN
- To correct and identify discrepancies by troubleshooting electronic, hydraulic, visual, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Install, replace, clean, repair, and service various equipment including visual generation/display systems, computer networks, motion systems, electronic circuit boards, computers, and circuits.
- Perform periodic maintenance and diagnostics on computer and peripheral equipment. Operate and maintain electronic test equipment.
- Accomplish pre-flight, morning readiness, and FAA certification checks.
- Accomplish software archiving functions.
- Utilize simulator software utilities to troubleshoot simulator system discrepancies.
